Military Outreach and Veteran Engagement (MOVE) Initiative
Connecting military talent to fulfilling careers in NC biopharmaceutical manufacturing
North Carolina's booming biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry will need at least 8,000 new workers by the end of 2026. More than 108 biopharmaceutical manufacturing sites across the state currently employ more than 32,000 people at an average salary of $93,000. Entry-level salaries range from $45k to $70k, depending on the position, education and experience.
- NCBiotech's MOVE Initiative operates as an approved Career Skills Program (CSP) with US Army Fort Liberty.
-
The industry has already made the connection between your military experience and their needs, so no science background is required to enroll in the program.
-
NCBiotech will sponsor transitioning service members, veterans and military spouses to complete BioWork at no cost, so NO GI Bill is required.
- NCBiotech partners with military-friendly industry partners who report a high probability for employment. Our partners serve as host companies to offer On-the-Job Training Internships (OJT) for transitioning service members. Learn more about OJT internships here.
- NCBiotech currently partners with 6 NC Community Colleges to offer BioWork, a job training certificate program that teaches the foundational skills needed to begin a career as a process technician. Learn more about BioWork here.
